Yeshwanthpur-Kannar-Yeshwanthpur train (16517/16518) will run with three more coaches from December, according to a release by the Palakkad division of the Southern Railway.It said the train presently running with five coaches will have two luggage-cum brake van (earlier one), three sleeper class (earlier 2) and two general coaches (earlier one). Coaches will be augmented on a permanent basis for the train leaving Yeshwanthpur on December 1 and for the train leaving Kannur the next day.Recently, the Commissioner for Railway Safety (Southern Circle) S.K. Mittal went on record saying that the Yeshwanthpur-Karwar/Kannur train (it is split at Mangalore Central) has been permitted to run with 24 coaches as against 18. With three coaches added to the Kannur train, State's coastal district can only hope for addition of only three more coaches.
