Trains from Dehradun are packed, with long waiting lists for most, especially the long-distance trains like Upasana, Rapti Ganga, and Janta Express. Most trains from Delhi are also full, with waiting lists for all except the Shatabdi. The Dehradun Railway Station Superintendent, Ravinder Kumar, confirmed that all trains are full due to the usual rush during Holi. Roadways has begun to add buses on some routes to handle the increased passenger load, particularly to Delhi and Chandigarh. The Dehradun-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will begin operation on March 26th, and online bookings are open. While most trains from Dehradun to Lucknow and vice versa have long waiting lists, the Vande Bharat has empty seats for all dates except March 26th. The Upasana Express from Howrah is consistently late, causing rescheduling issues and inconvenience to passengers. The train has been delayed by as much as five hours and arrived two hours late on Tuesday.
