मुगलसराय से कोयला लादकर मालगड़ी लखनऊ की ओर जा रही थी। दोपहर दो बजे के करीब दादूपुर पहुंची तो एक बैगन से धुआं उठने लगा। जानकारी होने पर गार्ड ने चालक के साथ रेलवे कंट्रोल और स्टेशन अधीक्षक मां बेल्हादेवी प्रतापगढ़ जंक्शन को सूचना दी। एसएस शमीम अहमद ने फोनकर दमकलकर्मियों को बुलाया। मालगाड़ी 2.45 बजे जंक्शन पर पहुंची। इसे दो नंबर लाइन पर लिया गया। दमकलकर्मी ट्रेन रुकते ही आग बुझाने में जुट गए। करीब 15 मिनट में आग पर काबू पा लिया गया। स्टेशन अधीक्षक ने कहा कि पौने तीन बजे मालगाड़ी जंक्शन पर पहुंची और एक घंटे देरी पौने चार बजे उसे लखनऊ के लिए रवाना कर दिया गया।
