to work, school, or even burying their dead. They have demanded the construction of an underpass or flyover bridge to ensure their passage. The villagers have threatened to launch an indefinite rail blockade starting the second week of January 2024 if their demands are not met by the first week. They also plan to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and will not allow any political party leaders to enter their village. They accused the local MP, Annapurnna Devi, of betraying them as she had promised the construction of the underpass or flyover bridge before the construction of the railway corridor began. The construction of the railway corridor is causing inconvenience to residents of four panchayats in Koderma and several villages in Barhi and Barkattha blocks. Residents of Herodih, Chehal, Kariyawan, and Tamay panchayats face difficulty in accessing the district and block headquarters. This will also affect the education and healthcare access for school children, as schools and colleges are situated on both sides of the railway track. The meeting was attended by several villagers, including Murli Yadav, Ranjit Yadav, Ashok Yadav, and others.
