It is frustrating to see the poor progress made by NFR (Katihar Division) to home Electric locos in both MLDT and SGUJ..
In fact, Malda has only 30 functioning ALCOs in M/E duty which are absolutely unnecessary. There are copious WDP4D stock with SGUJ/NGC to replace the older ALCOs. There are surplus EMD stock that MLDT can receive from other zones if they want to replace rest of the ALCOs. My question is - what is the plan on MLDT? Without E locos and even EMD holding - are they going to really shut it down? Only 30 active locos may not justify a full shed.. SGUJ EMDs can easily take over these links!!!
