These trains are needed. Down couple of years, we may see some regular Specials (only reserved accommodation) to continue like PUNE-JBP, BDTS-JBP, HBJ-PUNE/Dharwad. There is absolutely no political will to raise fares. I wonder, if Pay Commissions decide hike in salaries and pensions, why can't there be a Fare Commission? How do Pay Commissions expect huge employers like railways, BSNL and defence equipment manufacturers to stay afloat? That's an enigma alright, but I suspect the PC bases its raises on GDP. Could be wrong, but its high time the train fares (including season tickets) are revised. Also a high time unproductive employees being identified and retired(either voluntarily or compulsively).
