* Over 30000 RKMs out of total 58000 BG RKMs of IR are already electrified by 31.3.17. Rate of electrification had been accelerated from 500km/yr (some years ago) to 1000km/yr (a few years ago) to 2500km/yr (2016-17)and accelerated targets of 2017-18 4000km, 2018-19 onwards 6000km/yr are set in order to electrify all BG routes in next 5 years. It can be assumed that if not in 5 years, electrification can be done in 7-8 years.
*Requirement of Dlocos have started falling and currently many trains on electrified routes are being hauled by Dlocos (due to shortage of Elocos). A large number of D-locos shall be rendered useless or shall be running on electrified routes (due to shortage of E-locos) within a couple...

* Initial plan of IR was to go for electric traction in E-DFC and for Diesel traction for double stack container operation in W-DFC. But due to Japanese interference, soon high mast electric traction for double stack container operation had to be finalised for W-DFC. IR should have cancelled the plan of new D-loco factory or should have converted it into E-loco factory at that moment itself. But surprisingly that did not happen.
* Export of Dlocos is normally of the order of 20 locos/yr, DLW is more than sufficient to handle it and produce some D-locos in future for IR, if required.
