VB is basically a scam right now. It has higher priority but I'd prefer Rajdhani or Shatabdi any day. Original aim of VBE was to connect large cities and run it at 160kph. But now VBE is being run from any where, having stops at wherever the political MP wants and they never upgraded the speed so its basically a PR train of the govt.

Isn't TATA-HWH now 130 kph capable? Either case, that stretch is triple lined now and average of ~70 on that route isn't worth it.
Probably due to infamous bottlenecks near TATA large slack given

Most of the people end up taking train from Patna.
So they end up contributing ₹25(passenger train) or ₹50(express trains) in the revenue of Gaya station and rest of the large chunk of revenue in the coffers of Patna.

Clearly one of the successful VBs. Doing around 100% occupancy even in this peak off season period.
Also, the highlight is 92% occupancy even in EC, clearly a hit VB!!

Take the NDLS-GHY Sampark Kranti. It's available on Wednesdays, has a late night departure from Delhi and morning arrival at GHY. Though, like with most trains, it has serious paucity of SL coaches. But if anyone is looking in 3AE or 3A, then due to large nos of coaches and less number of stoppages, they are slightly easily available than couple of other trains [think Avadh Assam].
