The Northern Railways has proposed a new daily fast passenger train service between Pratapgarh Junction (MBDP) and Unnao Junction (ON) via Rae Bareli (RBL), Ubarni (UBN),... more...
and Raghuraj Singh (RRS). This proposal aims to meet the persistent demand for improved connectivity for passengers traveling between MBDP, RBL, and ON/CNB (Kanpur Central) regions.
Current Services to be Discontinued
Currently, there are two train services facilitating connectivity between RBL and RRS:
1. Train No. 04247/48
- 04247: From RBL (05:05) to RRS (06:55)
- 04248: From RRS (07:30) to RBL (09:40)
2. Train No. 04251/52
- 04251: From RBL (17:30) to RRS (19:55)
- 04252: From RRS (20:40) to RBL (22:40)
These services are proposed to be discontinued to introduce the new daily fast passenger train service from MBDP to ON.
Proposed New Train Service
The new service aims to provide direct and fast connectivity between Pratapgarh and Unnao, covering key stations such as Rae Bareli, Ubarni, and Raghuraj Singh.
Timings and Stops:
- MBDP to ON (Fast Passenger)
- Departure from Pratapgarh (MBDP): 06:00
- Arrival at Rae Bareli (RBL): 07:45, Departure: 08:18
- Arrival at Raghuraj Singh (RRS): 10:15, Departure: 10:20
- Arrival at Unnao (ON): 12:00
- ON to MBDP (Fast Passenger)
- Departure from Unnao (ON): 13:00
- Arrival at Raghuraj Singh (RRS): 14:00, Departure: 14:05
- Arrival at Rae Bareli (RBL): 16:15, Departure: 16:44
- Arrival at Pratapgarh (MBDP): 19:30
Benefits of the New Service
1. Enhanced Connectivity:
- The new service will meet the heavy demand for direct connectivity between MBDP and ON/CNB areas, facilitating passengers from MBDP and AME (Amethi) regions.
2. Decongestion:
- The new train will help decongest the Rae Bareli area and reduce long-duration stabling at Rae Bareli Station.
3. Improved Maintenance Efficiency:
- By shifting the primary maintenance to Pratapgarh (MBDP) station, utilizing the newly constructed washing line, one maintenance slot will be freed at Rae Bareli Station.
This proposal, if implemented, will significantly improve passenger convenience and operational efficiency across the Northern Railway network, specifically catering to the needs of travellers in the MBDP, RBL, and ON regions.
