Investigation launched into Executive Express failing to stop at Payyoli

On Saturday night, the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express (Train number 16307) skipped the Payyoli station, causing a commotion among passengers. The train, after travelling two kilometers, stopped between Ayanikad and Iringal at 10:54 PM due to passenger protests. Officials claim that unlike other stations, Payyoli lacks a special signal system for halting trains and that the loco pilot couldn't see the station due to heavy rain. To compensate, the Railways arranged transport for the passengers from Vadakara to Payyoli and are implementing measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The Railways has expressed regret for the inconvenience.
