The train will not run on Wednesdays from April 5th to July 29th and on Thursdays from July 30th onwards due to mechanical reasons. The first Vande Bharat Express on this route, numbered 20607/20608, has been operational since November 2022. Prior to its full launch, the train operated between SMVT Bengaluru and Chennai Central from March 14th to April 4th, with Wednesday being an off-day due to maintenance constraints in Mysuru. The new train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 12th.
