Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, Sh. Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy traveled by new train upto Jhajjar, along with Chief Minister, Haryana, Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Covering the three districts of Rewari, Jhajjar and Rohtak, the rail line would benefit residents of 41 surrounding villages. There are 128 major bridges including 13 Road-under-Bridges, 4 Road-over bridges and 38 manned level-crossings and is thus a significantly developed area. As this region is proximal to the National Capital region and is marked by dense population, the commissioning of the new rail line would be a highly facilitative mode of transport.
Rewari and Rohtak were connected through 129.86 Km rail section via Bhiwani. In order to provide a direct and shorter link between the two towns, it was decided to construct a new Broad Gauge link between Rohtak and Rewari via Jhajjar through 81.257 Km rail line, thereby reducing traveling distance by nearly 50 kms with corresponding reduction in travel time.
