The 37-year-old RRI (Route Relay Interlocking) and panel-based interlocking system at Ratlam Junction were replaced with a new modern electronic interlocking and computerized panel-based operation, along with indoor and outdoor signaling gear installations. This is Western Railway's largest electronic interlocking installation in the financial year with 371 routes. Additionally, yard remodeling was done, allowing passenger trains to use platform 7 on the railway colony side for Mumbai-Chittorgarh-Mumbai services. Three new lines were commissioned towards the Dahod end to facilitate Delhi-Mumbai route trains. The old panel interlocking at Ratlam A cabin was also replaced with modern electronic interlocking, which is known for its reliability and ease of troubleshooting.
