This incident follows similar attempts in other parts of UP, such as Gazipore where a wooden log was placed on the track and Kanpur where a cylinder and a petrol-filled bottle were found on the track. The police have increased security measures due to these repeated attempts to derail trains. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the train was travelling from Dehradun to Kathgodam. The loco pilot spotted the pole near the Balwant Enclave colony, between poles numbered 45/10 and 11. The train, numbered 12091, was scheduled to reach Rudrapur station at 9:45 but was 10 minutes late, arriving at 10:15. Upon arrival, the loco pilot informed the station superintendent and the GRP about the incident. The police, including the CO and the station house officer, arrived at the scene, and the Superintendent of Police directed the police to take strict action against those involved. The GRP Superintendent also inspected the area and instructed his team to take necessary measures.

Budhvaar ki raat me Rudrapur border se city area ki Balwant Enclave colony ke peeche se guzar rahi railway line par khamba number 45/10 aur 11 ke beech bijli ka lohe ka bhaari bharam khamba kisi ne track par rakh diya tha. Train number 12091, Kathgodam Dehradun Express, Dehradun se vapas Kathgodam ja rahi thi. Train ke loco pilot ne railway line par bijli ka khamba dekha to chaunk gaye. Tatkali emergency brake laga kar train ko rok liya aur maamle ki jaankari adhikariyon ko di. Saathi rail karmiyon ki madad se khamba ko track se hata bhi gaya. 9:45 par express train ko Rudrapur railway station pahunchna tha. Leikin woh 10 minute deri se chal rahi thi. Train 10:15 par railway station Rudrapur, Uttarakhand pahuchi. Tab ja kar train ke loco pilot ne station adhikari aur GRP ko maamle se aavgat karaya. Soochna par sthaniy police aur GRP police mauke par pahunch gayi. Iske saath hi CO Ravi khokhar, prabhaari nirikshak Balwan Singh police karmiyon ke saath mauke par pahunch gaye. Superintendent of Police Vidya Kishor Mishra ne mauke par pahunch kar nirikshan kiya. Unhone police karmiyon ko nirdessit kiya ki woh aise shararatitev par nazar rakhe aur unke khilaf sakht se sakht karwai kare. Udhar soochna par GRP police adhikari ne bhi mauke par pahunch kar nirikshan kiya aur GRP police ko aavshyak disha nirdess diye.
