The impact resulted in the derailment of 18 coaches of the Mumbai Mail, including AC, sleeper, and pantry cars. With the assistance of a dozen cranes, the derailed coaches and wagons were removed, followed by the restoration of the track and traction system. The third line was operational by 8:55 PM on July 31st. The up line was operational by 4:15 AM on August 1st, and the down line resumed services by 3:55 PM on August 1st. Railway officials, including the General Manager (GM) of the South Eastern Zone and the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Chakradharpur, were present at the site overseeing the restoration work. The GM departed for Howrah via Tatanagar on Thursday evening around 6:30 PM after all lines were operational.
