Upon selection, bidders must provide a performance security and a bid process management fee. The empanelment is valid for one year with potential extension. Solar power generated will be used by Indian Railways through net metering. Bidders must have experience installing 200 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems or 1 MW of any grid-connected systems and must have an average annual turnover of Rs 15 million over the past three years. The projects must utilize domestically manufactured modules listed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and will not receive central financial assistance. The Sonpur Division of the East Central Railway is also seeking bids for 1.1 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar power.
