Demand for coaching terminal at Kottayam to help operate more trains from Kerala

Passengers in Kottayam are demanding the completion of a coaching terminal sanctioned in 2011, citing the need for more train services from the region, especially in light of track doubling. They argue that the terminal would increase terminal capacity and cater to passengers from central Kerala, as many trains currently terminate...

in Tamil Nadu due to limited space in Kerala. They are also requesting a new daily Vande Bharat sleeper train to Bengaluru, and daily trains to Mumbai, Coimbatore, and Chennai. The Mumbai-based Western India Passengers' Association has also urged that the Chennai-Kottayam Vande Bharat service be made regular and that the Kanyakumari-CST Mumbai Jayanti Janatha Express be extended to Mumbai, beyond Pune. Both associations are critical of trains terminating in Tamil Nadu while space remains underutilized in Kerala stations. passengers ko fayda hoga, kyuki abhi bahut saare trains Tamil Nadu mein jaake khatam ho jaate hain, Kerala mein jagah kam hone ki wajah se. Unki yeh bhi demand hai ki Bengaluru ke liye ek nayi daily Vande Bharat sleeper train shuru ki jaaye, aur Mumbai, Coimbatore, aur Chennai ke liye bhi daily trains chalai jaaye. Mumbai mein Western India Passengers' Association ne yeh bhi kaha hai ki Chennai-Kottayam Vande Bharat service ko saal bhar ke liye regular kiya jaaye aur Kanyakumari-CST Mumbai Jayanti Janatha Express ko Pune se aage Mumbai tak extend kiya jaaye. Dono associations ne yeh baat bhi uthayi hai ki bahut saare trains Tamil Nadu mein jaake khatam ho jaate hain, jabki Kerala ke stations mein jagah khali padi hai. Unhone yeh bhi kaha hai ki Kozhikode, Palakkad, aur Thiruvananthapuram ke liye extra MEMU trains chalai jaaye, jisse long-distance trains mein bheed kam ho. Aakhir mein, unka maanana hai ki Kottayam coaching terminal banne se Ernakulam Junction aur Town stations ki bheed kam hogi.
