Information System (IPIS), which also integrates with the Railway network and the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) for real-time updates. The Indian Railways plans to equip all newly manufactured coaches with digital display boards and retrofit them in existing coaches. Additionally, some coaches are equipped with smart features such as CCTV surveillance, Wi-Fi, emergency call boxes, and on-board condition monitoring systems, designed to enhance passenger comfort, safety, and convenience. The Indian Railways is committed to providing world-class facilities to passengers using intelligent sensor-based systems and moving towards predictive maintenance instead of preventive maintenance.
