The train is scheduled to arrive at Chakradharpur at 10:40 pm but is regularly arriving 2-3 hours late. The Utkal Express delays are causing difficulties for passengers traveling to Tatanagar and Rourkela. Pawan Shankar Pandey, the former district vice-president of the BJP, has written to the Railway Minister requesting intervention to ensure these trains run on time, providing ease of travel for the local population. A copy of the letter has been sent to the Divisional Railway Manager in Chakradharpur.
