The WCM-6 class locomotive, one of the rarest, was first built by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) in 1996. The particular locomotives seen here are KALYAN | KYN WCM-6 #20188 and #20187, hauling a departmental rake. These were converted to operate on 25kV AC by the Electric Locomotive Works in Bhusawal on 28 August 2008. Though they now meet WAG-7 specifications, they remain classified as WCM-6. These locomotives are restricted to shunting and departmental duties only, with a maximum speed of 65 kmph, as per the provisional certificate issued by RDSO.
