Slightly #offtopic. Bro, in newspapers here in Indore, they frequently quote Mr. Nagesh Namjoshi (mostly) and Mr. Jagmohan Verma (sometimes) as "Railway mamlo ke Jankar" in railways related news / speculations. They introduce them as "Railway Passengers Amenities Committee Ke Poorv Sadasya". I have a few questions, which the newspapers never address or answer.
1) What exactly is this committee? What is its purpose and what powers it holds? What authority gives it its powers? (I mean is it constituted by the Railway Board or Zone / Division officers, or is...
more... it just like an informal group of daily up-downers / frequent travelers' association?)
2) Do they even do frequent meetings or holds discussions? What frequencies? Are their recommendations heard by anyone in Board or Zone or Division? Or are they just a group of enthusiasts like rail-fans who just keep discussing but have no bearing at all on ground?
3) Let's assume this committee is indeed empowered enough to influence important decisions at Board / Zone / Division level. Then why do the newspapers keep on taking quotes from a "Poorv Sadasya"? Won't it be more impactful to contact someone who is a "Vartaman Sadasya"?
4) If it is really a committee, then there must be many members. Why do they keep talking to these 2 gentlemen only (Mostly Mr. Namjoshi 80-90% of time)? Why are the other "Poorv" or "Vartaman" members never contacted?
Sorry for being too inquisitive on this. But these questions are baffling me from a long time.
