Recently I had travelled by this train and henceforth, sharing my experience.
It is indeed the most important train in Pnbe-Dbrt section, unlike other trains whose condition are pathetic i.e in GR too.Guwahati to Dibrugarh and vice versa travel is also one of the high demand by people. henceforth, recently Dbrt was made to have all the Rajdhanis i.e 12423, 12435, 12235. and also 12423/22423 is made daily, seeing the high demands in DBRT-GHY run.

more... ths train, i.e WDP 4 of Siliguiri shed and WAP-4 of Ghaziabad shed, with wdp 4 being slightly special as being in Bazz livery. Despite the heavy frains on the previous night n water logging, the train departed on time and reached on time till barauni with a WDP 4 and from where GZB WAP-4 took over. But, Unusual thing that happened that day was if halt Half and hour at Patna, and just went few kms ahead and was stopped at two places simply.. making the train loose 3 hrs in Patna and nearby itself. and henceforth reached New Delhi also 3 hrs late.
Food of this train is really good, especially if u opte for Non-veg. Just wanted to mention one fact that i observed, at Barauni Jn, the chapattis were fallen over the platform while carrying it upto pantry and same were loaded in to give the passengers.
Electrification work is going on Barauni-Kisanganj section, I guess. so the train might speed up in near future after electrification.
Cleanliness is also good.
NR staff are not at all polite in thier talks, except while taking TIPS at end of the journey.
I had travelled in other trains of this section that were Jayanagar GR and Ltt Ghy exp, both were so pathetic, no proper basin, very very bad toilet. so, 12423 surely is a blessing for the decent travellers in the section.
